and am not sure it is silver plate either

There is a little crazing to the shiny areas of glaze and one small black ink mark which I have not tried to remove but it might scrub away

or put to some other creative use

I'm listing this antique embroidery on linen pin cushion just as I found it -- stuck full of pins

and I especially love it's hammer which pulls out nicely to place it in cocked position

Victorian Waxed Fabric Cockade Fan with Ribbon and Decorative Edges square ceramic bowl and am not sure itI only just learned that fans shaped like this are called cockade fans, and I must say I find it a great pleasure to unfurl them and then lock the handles in place! Victorian era, I love the cutout edges on this one, combined with the peach colored ribbon that runs all the way around. The dark brown with gold decoration leather like covering on the wooden handles shows some wear, but it's in good structural shape with years of fanning left in it yet
