The soils are quartz-rich colluvium – a mix of rock types and sediments deposited from the mountains above
The vineyard is perched on a ridge top directly exposed to the Van Duzzer wind gap at an elevation of 820-860 feet and overlooks the Wilamette valley
which has been missing the past couple years because of smoke exposure in 2020 and because we’ve increased the élevage time from 15 months to 20 months
though on the opposite side of the Sesia River

2024 Max Kilburg Goldtropfchen Riesling Kabinett, Mosel, Germany Grand Mayan The soils are quartz-rich colluviumThe Goldtrpfchen is the warmer vineyard, yet somehow the wine presents more linear (these basic notes as per Ohligsberg and Goldtrpfchen hold true with the expressions of Julian Haart as well, which is fascinating) the tones here are a bit brighter and stone fruited; it is also characteristically spiced and herbal, simply piercing and lithe.
