After an up and down start to the season Nova found itself unranked entering the gauntlet of their Big East schedule. Led by the play of Kerry Kittles the Wildcats rattled off an 11 game win streak which included a road win over #1 Connecticut. That win vaulted Villanova into the Top 10 and they headed into the Big East Tournament with a 23 7 record. Steve Lappas's squad
